It’s been quiet on here because I’ve been in the process of moving my page to a new domain! Update your bookmarks to http://alifehd.com/
Happy Sunday! Just finished up this post on my car ride between writing papers for school, so hopefully there aren’t too many car bump-instigated typos. 🙂
This was going to be posted as a “Friday Faves” post, but I had a horrible internet connection during my trip to North Carolina. So I present to you my “faves” from the past week.
My new Pyle Bluetooth headphones. Oh my gosh! I waited sooo long to get myself a pair of these and they make such a huge difference for my workouts! I put up with wired over-ear headphones for my cardio, but dangling wires+a spin bike was never a good idea.
These have been fantastic!!!! And they are waterproof, so no worries when I drip copious amounts of sweat everywhere.
Hump day! Hurray. But I’m getting my booty workout in tomorrow, so I guess I’ll celebrate a day late.
Just got finished grilling out and eating a delicious dinner of center cut pork chops, brussel sprouts, Kettle chips (Red Curry flavor), and oh-so-much watermelon. Jeremy has his pork chop grilling skills down to an art – I promise to get photos next time but completely devoured everything before I even thought about it. We were super hungry tonight. But what really got me was the watermelon. I grabbed a huge one for $3.99 at Fresh Market, along with the pork chops, and I think maybe I felt obligated to finish too much of it. haha. So now I’m sleepy with a watermelon belly.
- I eat kiwis whole. Furry skin and all. According to the California Kiwifruit Commission, it’s completely safe to eat kiwi skin. unless you are allergic, of course. More fiber for me. 🙂
- I hate waking up & moving without a kick in the butt with caffeine. It gets a bit pathetic but I guess it’s how I’m wired…
- Even weirder… I sleep better when I have caffeine. I recently cut caffeine for a month and had the WORST insomnia!
- I have a nervous habit of picking at my cuticles on my thumbs.
- In middle school and maybe some of high school, I had friends who called me “Buns”…. Because I was obsessed with nice buns.
- I got married next to dolphins at Marineland in St. Augustine, Florida. (Did I mention that I’m obsessed with dolphins and the ocean already?). Since our anniversary is coming up on the 15th, I figured I’d get this one in here. ❤
Jeremy and I are still trying to figure out our 2 year anniversary plans, but I’m sure we’;; enjoy whatever we come up with. We’re usually pretty laid back about it. For now, my mind is on enjoying Erin’s wedding this weekend in North Carolina! I haven’t seen her in so long, but I’m super excited for her! Congrats to my blonde twin! ❤
Hope you all had a good one! What did you do for your anniversary(ies)?!
PS: Feel free to check out my latest Daily Draw on my portfolio site.
More busy summer days, although I can’t complain – I’m rarely bored. 🙂
Care for another survey!? I hope so. Getting ahead on classwork because I have a wedding to go to this weekend in North Carolina! ❤ Enjoy!
A. Attached or Single? Attached and very married to my best friend!
B. Best Friend? See above! But outside of Jeremy, I am blessed with many amazing friends, not just one.
C. Cake or pie? meh… not a cake or pie person, usually.. But I have developed a love for some cake pops (they are slightly doughish in the middle & delicious)! I prefer brownies, choc. chip cookies, etc.
D. Day of choice? mmm… Friday evenings because I usually have the weekend & fun plans to look forward to.
E. Essential Item? I guess a sketch/notebook for my flurries of random ideas.
F. Favorite color? Greens and Blues ❤
G. Gummy bears or worms? Worms! but just the sour kind!
H. Home town? Atlanta, GA. Well, grew up right outside of the city, but Atl is my home.
I. Favorite Indulgence? I can’t really say that I deprive myself ever haha. never see a point in it, because then you end up wanting what you “can’t have”. But a good craft beer or two (Dogfish Head Indian Brown is one of my usual go-to’s) with a homemade pizza, or (authentic Italian syle pizza!) are some of my favorite “indulgences”. & White Chocolate Raspberry Quest Bars (those do count!)
L. Life isn’t complete without? Love and compassion.
M. Marriage date? June 15th, 2013. Our 2 year anniversary is coming up next week!
N. Number of brothers/sisters? 2 brothers, one sister, all younger (2 years between my brothers and I, 12 years between my sister and I)
O. Oranges or Apples? I love both!!! But maybe apples because they are less messy & people don’t look at me funny when I eat the rind.
P. Phobias? Finding out I’m infertile, maybe? and Roaches. I know it’s dumb.
R. Reasons to smile? I’m married to the love of my life, it’s summer, and I’m enjoying the less stressful summer semester (Biochemistry in the Fall )
S. Season of choice? Early Fall, late Spring. And the less humid days of summer 😉 (cheated, I know)
T. Tuna or Salmon? Both but probably wild, fresh salmon when in the Pacific Northwest. It’s incredible. Tuna if it’s Ahi style.
U. Unknown fact about me? I have a metal plate in my right hand (from shattering it during my undergraduate years). But it really only bothers me when I bench press over 100 lbs. I went through an entire semester at SCAD producing some neat left handed work, though. 🙂
V. Vegetable? Purple sweet potatoes! (They’re so pretty! I would say avocados if they weren’t a fruit). I love most of my veggies and greens, though – have never been picky with them.
W. Worst habit? Not being able to sit still and indulging in procrastination. These go together, I promise.
X. Xray or Ultrasound? Ultrasound. Safer!
